Purpose & main user community of the library

Cliff College’s purpose is to resource the students that attend validated courses. Our main users are students studying for validated Undergraduate, Masters and Doctoral degrees in mission, ministry and theology. However, we do have several external readers who find our library helpful for their ministry.

Terms of access

Anyone can browse the library, but only students of the college and those registered as external readers have borrowing rights.

Mon–Thur: 10.00–16.00, Fri: 10.00–14.00

Lending to other libraries & visitors

Visitors are welcome to use our library for reference but must become an external reader to able to have borrowing rights. This is £25 per year.

33,000 in the main library, 41,000 including other collections across the Cliff College site.

Anyone wishing to seek out primary material relating to the Wesleyan Missionary Society, various branches of non-Wesleyan Methodism, the Joyful News Association and the concatenated parts that contributed to what has become Cliff College, and various other papers relating to the Wesleyan Holiness Tradition.
