We’re excited to announce ABTAPL’s 2027 Spring Conference! In a world where AI increasingly overshadows the information conversation, we’re going back to what’s at the heart of the library – our people. Our call for papers opens in September 2026 and we’re especially keen to receive submissions about the people at the heart of your library. Some suggestions include:
- User experience in the theological library
- Supporting theological library users with additional needs and supporting mature students
- The role of the librarian in the theological library
- How to get a job in a theological library
- Recruiting and managing library staff, volunteers and interns

We’ll have a warm welcome in 2027 at Luther King House, Manchester, a peaceful friendly venue with excellent spaces for informal networking, just a short distance from the busy hub of Manchester city centre. As always, the conference supports continuing professional development for our members including through visits to local libraries and ‘Teachmeet’ sessions for sharing good practice, as well as presentation sessions.
